Great news: Two new publications on composite fluid flow
It is a great pleasure to share the publication of two peer-reviewed articles on the topic of composite fluid flow from the master thesis of Camilo Ortiz-Monsalve, a co-supervised master student of Salehi Group and PD. Dr. Thomas Gruhn. Camilo in his master's thesis used computer simulation to investigate the orientational flow of rod-shaped fillers in viscoelastic flows like hydrogels. He also experimentally showed how the rod-shaped fillers can be included in the GelMA extruded fibers. The importance of this research is on developing bioinks containing anisotropic fillers which can support the bioprinting of anisotropic tissues like skeletal muscle. These fantastic works are published in the Journal of Bioengineering and the journal of Physics of Fluids.
